According to Aron Brand, CTERA’s CTO, “the term backup is becoming obsolete, as dedicated backup solutions that are built on the principle of periodical backups and user-initiated, time-consuming restore sessions, are being phased out for next-generation protected storage solutions that offer ransomware detection and instant recovery capabilities.” Brand added: “To be honest, I don’t like the name World Backup Day. I prefer to think of this day as World Disaster Recovery Day.”
