CTERA Wins Judges Choice Award

‘Cloud Attached Storage’ recognized in the Data Management category

Petach Tikva, Israel and Palo Alto, Calif. – April 28, 2009 – CTERATM Networks Ltd., an innovator in next-generation cloud storage solutions, today announced that the company was honored with a Judges Choice award at Dealmaker Media’s Under the Radar conference in Mountain View, Calif. last Friday.

CTERA Networks CEO Liran Eshel presented the company’s hybrid network attached storage (NAS) and cloud storage solution, called Cloud Attached StorageTM, to an audience of technology influencers, venture capitalists, and media. He also showed a demonstration of CTERA’s highly anticipated CloudPlugTM, a tiny device that converts any USB hard drive into a file server with integrated online backup. The CloudPlug is currently in beta and expected to be available later this year.

The panel of four judges consisted of Larry Dignan, editor in chief at ZDNet; Mark Bagley, vice president, technology at British Telecom; Stephen Jordan, senior manager, innovation, Web2.0 technologies at Pfizer, and Mitchell Kertzman, managing director at Hummer Winblad. The Data Management session was moderated by Ellen McGirt, senior writer at Fast Company.

“Under the Radar was a very successful event for CTERA,” said Eshel. “The caliber of presenting start-ups was extremely high, and the audience was not only interested in learning about new cloud technologies but was prepared to engage. We were honored to be selected to present at the event, and winning this award further validates our efforts as we approach our initial launch.”

“CTERA is a great example of a company driving innovation in cloud storage by focusing on disruptive technologies, a targeted market (small businesses), targeted delivery (channel) and an open architecture, said Debbie Landa, CEO and founder of Dealmaker Media. “It’s exactly the type of company we seek to showcase at Under the Radar, and we congratulate Mr. Eshel and his team on the Judges Choice award.”

By marrying the performance and simplicity of Network Attached Storage (NAS) with the scalability and reliability of cloud storage services in a single appliance-based solution, CTERA enables small businesses, consumers and teleworkers to easily back up and synchronize files online.

Now in its 13th series, Under the Radar (UTR) collaborated with the most disruptive startups in SaaS, PaaS, virtualization, and infrastructure from around the world to pitch their startups to some of the most influential minds in technology and business today. Judges Choice and Audience Choice Awards were presented in session categories as well as for the overall event.

CTERA Networks was founded by Liran Eshel and Zohar Kaufman, seasoned entrepreneurs and software pioneers who previously led SofaWare Technologies, a Check Point company (NASDAQ: CHKP), from early incubation to a prime position in the small business network security appliance and managed services market.
