Pre Sales Engineer - East

Location: New York, New Jersey

CTERA Networks is a fast-growing startup in the space of cloud storage and is seeking a Sales Engineer (‘SE’) to provide technical pre-sales support for the entire CTERA solution portfolio. In addition to the pre-sale tasks listed below, the position will support the post sales team in complex customer implementations as well as provide Tier-2 to 3 technical support and engineering consultation to service providers and large enterprise customers.

At CTERA you will:

  • Interact with partners – train partners and work on joint opportunities
  • Support the local CTERA sales team in sales situations where technical help is needed
  • Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle (qualify the opportunity, sell the solution on its technical merits, write POCs, respond to RFIs/RFPs, support complex implementations for large customers once the deal is closed etc.)
  • Effectively manage channel partners in the specified territory to generate target bookings
  • Transfer knowledge to both customers and partners (product demos, hands on training)

Pre-Sales Engineer

You will support pre- and post-sales for the entire CTERA solution portfolio, and work with blue-chip customers across the globe. You will become a technical subject matter expert on CTERA solutions and will assist in complex customer implementations. In addition to pre-sales activities, you will be responsible for providing Tier-2/Tier-3 technical support, as well as engineering consulting to service providers and large enterprise customers.

In addition, the position includes the following:

  • Interaction with partners – training, working jointly on opportunities, supporting the local sales team in sales situation where technical help is needed.

QA Automation Team Leader

The CTERA QA automation team is responsible for testing advanced on-site storage appliances and off-site cloud multi-platform solutions. The automation team leader position is a hands-on automation engineering role focusing on leading the implementation of automated functionality and performance testing. In this position you will be responsible for managing, planning, designing, and deploying effective test automation suites in multi-platform environments. He/she must demonstrate the ability to understand storage system architectures, and develop tests across multiple hardware and software tiers. The position involves close interaction with members of the QA and the Development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop test automation to cover product features and provide product performance estimations.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and act as a mentor for the rest of the QA Automation team members.
  • Produce reports and documentation for all automated testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging and tracking.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Work closely with Development and QA engineers to define and implement testing and verification strategies and automation scenarios.
  • Identify performance issues and risk areas, generating baseline statistics for the products and its analysis.
  • Setup complicated multi-server cross-platform customer environments (Windows, Linux, and Solaris).
  • Research new testing technologies, develop cutting-edge automation and provide product enhancements and/or recommendations when necessary.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Computer Science.
  • Independent, responsible, organized and quick learner with strong problem-solving ability.
  • At least 3 years of direct experience as an automation engineer implementing test automation for enterprise applications.
  • Experience of at least 3 years with coding using Java, SQL, Scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of UNIX, Networking and Operating Systems design / tuning / tools (Win + Unix).
  • Strong Ability to analyze technical data and concise technical documents.

Manual QA Engineer

The CTERA QA automation team is responsible for testing advanced on-site storage appliances and off-site cloud multi-platform solutions. Technical Support Engineer

This is a customer-facing role where you will work to solve product and network problems of low to high complexity. You must be able to effectively utilize complex lab setups in order to duplicate and solve problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Help customers solve technical issues and properly set up their CTERA products
  • Answer questions from existing and prospective customers about the features and capabilities of CTERA products
  • Analyze customer's problems by using remote access, debug files, network captures and more
  • Recreate customer's symptoms at test lab and assist in troubleshooting and resolving product bugs
  • Follow up on customer cases/ tickets through CTERA's CRM
  • Write customer-facing technical documentation for CTERA's knowledge base and website

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of technical support experience
  • 1+ years experience with SQL and database administration 
  • Technical BA/BSc degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a computer technology field
