Pre-Sales Engineer Director - New York City

Location: New York City, NY

CTERA Networks is a fast-growing startup in the space of cloud storage and is seeking a Director of Sales Engineers (‘SE’) to provide pre-sales support for the entire CTERA solution portfolio. In addition to the pre-sale tasks listed below, the position also involves assisting in complex customer implementations. In addition to carrying the SE responsibilities, the SE Director will manage the team of SEs in NA and maintain a direct line of communication with Product Management and Solutions in Israel in order to establish technical excellence for CTERA in NA.

At CTERA you will:

  • Interact with partners – train partners and work on joint opportunities

IT Manager
This position provides IT support to CTERA’s WW employees as well as holds global responsibility for the entire IT infrastructure, network security and R&D labs. This is a HANDS-ON position that provides global support for corporate desktop/laptop computer infrastructure, supporting client’s onsite and remote.

Responsibilities:
  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades desktop/laptop hardware and software.
  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades R&D lab servers (VM / ESXi).
  • Management of user settings and security settings at desktop/laptop computer level including using active directory and Exchange.

Automation Team Leader
The CTERA Automation team is responsible for testing advanced on-site storage appliances and off-site cloud multi-platform solutions. The Automation team leader position is a hands-on automation engineering role focusing on leading the implementation of automated functionality and performance testing. In this position you will be responsible for managing, planning, designing, and deploying effective test automation suites in multi-platform environments. He/she must demonstrate the ability to understand storage system architectures, and develop tests across multiple hardware and software tiers. The position involves close interaction with members of the Development team.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and development of test Automation to cover product features and provide product performance estimations.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and act as a mentor for the rest of the Automation team members.

  • Analyze customers problems by using remote access, debug files, network captures and more.
  • Recreate customers symptoms at test lab and assist in troubleshooting and resolving product bugs.
  • Follow up on customer cases/tickets through CTERA's CRM.
  • Write customer-facing technical documentation for CTERA's knowledge base and website.
  • Communicate customer needs and wishes to CTERA's development team.

Requirements:

  • Computer Science student - 2nd or 3rd year.
  • Good knowledge of internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SSH, and DNS, as well as the ability to use diagnostic tools such as packets sniffer, ping, nslookup, etc. - An advantage.
  • Good Windows, Mac, Linux admin skills and troubleshooting ability – An advantage.
  • Experience with SQL and database administration – An advantage.
  • Experience with storage systems – An advantage.
  • Quick learner with a desire to learn new tools and techniques.
  • Multi-tasking and problem resolution abilities.
  • English – Fluent (verbal and written.
