Managing the CTERA Portal License
The CTERA Portal license limits the number of CTERA Virtual Gateway licenses, CTERA Workstation Backup licenses, CTERA Server Agent licenses, and Cloud Drive licenses, that can be provisioned throughout the CTERA Portal.
The CTERA Portal includes a 30-day evaluation license that includes the following:
• 10 CTERA Virtual Gateway licenses
• 10 CTERA Workstation Backup licenses
• 10 CTERA Server Agent licenses
• 10 Cloud Drive licenses.
Note: CTERA Cloud Storage Gateways (C200, C400, C800, C800+) are assigned perpetual portal licenses. They do not require provisioning through the CTERA Portal license.
Once this license has expired, or if you require additional licensing, you must install a new license key.
A regular CTERA Portal license is valid for one year and then requires renewal. When the license is about to expire, notifications appear on the notifications page of portal's administration interface, and emails are sent to the portal administrator(s). If the CTERA Portal license expires, the portal continues to function but adding new devices is disabled.
These tasks can be performed in the Global Administration View only.
