CTERA Networks Expands Global Channel for Managed Cloud-Based Storage and Data Protection Services

Grows Distributor Network to Provide Access to 20,000 VARs and MSPs

Petach Tikva, Israel and Palo Alto, Calif. September 21, 2010 – CTERA Networks, an innovator in hybrid cloud storage and data protection, today announced the completion of the first phase of its value-added distribution network, which now provides global coverage across America and Europe. CTERA provides its partners with enterprise-grade storage solutions for small/medium businesses (SMB) and enterprise branch offices that are cost-effective and simple to deploy. The solutions include a managed service component, creating recurring revenue opportunities for channel partners. Having recently added distribution partners in Europe and North America, CTERA now has access to more than 20,000 value added resellers (VARs) and managed service providers (MSPs) across the globe to drive adoption of its breakthrough cloud platform.

CTERA is the first company to offer a comprehensive hybrid cloud services platform for data protection and storage created specifically for the emerging multi-tier network of value-added distributors (VAD), Internet-service providers (ISP), MSPs and VARs that are shaping the cloud eco-system. The CTERA Cloud Attached Storage® solution combines fast local network storage devices with the CTERA Portal™, which is offered in both Datacenter and SaaS editions, empowering “Master MSPs” to work with multiple channel partners and resellers, while giving resellers complete flexibility in choosing a cloud infrastructure provider for their managed offerings.

Altimate Group (formerly Distrilogie), a leading European distributor of value-added enterprise IT solutions with operations in France, Benelux, Spain, Portugal, the UK and Ireland, recently signed up to distribute CTERA’s solutions.

“We chose to work with CTERA due to its unique appeal to resellers that want to expand their business to include cloud services,” said Patrice Arzillier, CEO at Altimate Group. “Additionally, the CTERA solution is a great fit for distributed, multi-branch enterprises whose branches typically lack the IT resources to adequately handle their storage and data protection requirements.”

Afina, a Spanish-based multinational distributor of enterprise IT products with a large presence across Southern Europe and Latin America, also chose to partner with CTERA. “As a distributor that is already providing managed solutions as a ‘Master MSP’, we see a great fit between CTERA’s offerings and our business model,” said Pedro Galatas, CEO at Afina. “We also expect CTERA’s technology to drive new business for our service provider partners.”

Earlier this year, CTERA announced distribution agreements with two North American VADs:

Interwork Technologies, based in Ottawa ON, Canada with offices throughout Canada and the USA, is the premier service-oriented distributor specializing in IT security, storage and IP communication solutions. “For the past 19 years, Interwork has been working with resellers and MSPs generating new business by introducing them to vendors like CTERA. We’re very excited about this partnership because we can offer our partners a very unique cloud-based solution for storage,” said Kenneth Lewis, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Interwork Technologies. “Cloud services are shifting the way we do business and CTERA is helping our reseller partners generate new, high-margin business with recurring revenues. As data protection and storage requirements grow, and older technologies need replacing, this creates a tremendous opportunity for growth.”

Seneca, based in Syracuse, NY, is a custom computer manufacturer and value-added technology distributor with a reseller network of over 4,000 nationwide. “CTERA is solidly in step with our plans to help our channel grow their managed services and cloud-based offerings,” said Paul Hayes, Director of Strategic Initiatives at Seneca. “Our resellers have been looking for a solution that provides comprehensive data protection and storage, while being easy to deploy and cost effective. CTERA fits the bill perfectly.”

CTERA Networks has additionally signed up distributors across the globe, among them WhiteGold in Australia and New Zealand, ITWay in Italy, EPA Systems in Poland, and H.Y. Group in Israel.
