f there’s one lesson the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us, it’s the significance of distance. Social distancing has fundamentally changed the way we live and interact. In the workplace, social distancing has led to office distancing – a combination of increased work-from-home (WFH) with a transition to lower density office schemes. Workforces are shifting from mega-headquarters campuses to smaller local offices, while videoconferences have replaced travel. Google, for example, won’t have its workers return to the office until the summer of 2021.
As a result of office distancing, organizations and security teams need to embrace data distancing, which means ensuring remote workers can work on their data with the same performance and security they had at the main office.
