CTERA Networks Chosen to Present at Under the Radar Conference
CEO to demonstrate Cloud Attached Storage™, a new way for small businesses to back up data to the cloud
Petach Tikva, Israel and Palo Alto, Calif. – March 31, 2009 – CTERA™ Networks Ltd., an innovator in next-generation storage solutions, today announced that the company has been selected to present at Dealmaker Media’s Under the Radar conference in Mountain View, Calif. on April 24, 2009.
At the conference, CTERA Networks CEO Liran Eshel will detail the company’s unique new approach to cloud-based data storage, called
Cloud Attached Storage™.
He will also expand upon the benefits and revenue opportunities for service providers looking to offer cloud storage solutions to subscribers.
Cloud Attached Storage, by marrying the performance and simplicity of Network Attached Storage (NAS) with the scalability and reliability of cloud storage services in a single appliance-based solution, enables small businesses, consumers and teleworkers to easily
back up and synchronize files online.
Now in its 13th series, Under the Radar (UTR) will bring the most disruptive startups in SaaS, PaaS, virtualization, and infrastructure from around the world to pitch their startups to some of the most influential minds in technology and business today. Judges include CIOs and executives from telecommunications, the financial industry, healthcare, media, technology as well as venture capitalists and press. At the end of the day, winning companies in each category will be announced. Audience members also get to vote.
“Small businesses are especially vulnerable to day-to-day computer failures and disaster, because like enterprises, their data is critical to business continuity, but like consumers, they typically lack dedicated IT resources. The cloud is an ideal solution,” said Liran Eshel, chief executive officer at CTERA Networks. “We believe service providers are perfectly positioned to offer a complete service to small businesses. At Under the Radar, we hope to connect with new service providers looking to take advantage of this burgeoning market, and we are honored to be selected to present.”
Eshel will also showcase the CTERA CloudPlug™, a tiny form-factor, plug-top computing device that instantly transforms any external USB hard drive into a NAS device with automatic online backup. Called the world’s tiniest server, the CloudPlug enables people to securely share, synchronize and backup their files to the Internet through embedded software running on the appliance. This hybrid approach eliminates the tedious task of installing and managing desktop backup software, which is particularly important to service providers, looking to avoid endpoint software incompatibilities, crashes and other software-related headaches.
The CTERA CloudPlug is currently in beta and is expected to be available to users later this year. CTERA Networks was founded by Liran Eshel and Zohar Kaufman, seasoned entrepreneurs and software pioneers who previously led SofaWare Technologies, a Check Point company (NASDAQ: CHKP), from early incubation to a prime position in the small business network security appliance and managed services market.
