Founded in 1992, POST Telecom is the largest services operator in Luxembourg with more than 250 thousand subscribers. POST Telecom group is Luxembourg-based with several subsidiaries active in different domains such as hosting, ICT solutions, integration, network security, data centers, transport, logistics, web design, consulting, and professional customers.
The Challenge
When moving to the market of cloud storage services, Post Telecom recognized the need in providing its business customers with a file sync & share solution that would enable them to sync and share files across any device and securely share files both internally and externally.
POST business customers required a secure, easy-to-use solution running out of POST’s Luxembourg-based datacenters, complying with strict rules and regulations on data confidentiality and governance. Consequently, POST sought out an easy-to-deploy solution that would provide businesses with secure file sync & share and mobile collaboration, as well as in-cloud & endpoint backup based on their existing storage infrastructure.
The solution had to be cost-effective and POST-branded (across Web, mobile and desktop) and have the ability to scale to tens of thousands of customers. In addition, POST required a multi-tenant solution allowing customers to have their own private hosted environments with complete separation of data, security and access privileges.
The CTERA Solution
After an extended market review, POST Telecom chose CTERA’s Cloud Storage Services Platform to deliver secure file sync & share and in-cloud & endpoint backup, based on EMC’s ViPR to manage its storage infrastructure. The solution comprises cloud-side management software and end-point agents for PC, Mac and mobile.
The CTERA- and EMC-powered solution is private labeled as ‘CloudDrive’ under POST’s brand, including all aspects of customer interaction on the web, PC and mobile. Users can access and manage their shared files, backup and accounts on the Web, using a standard browser and mobile apps.
The combined CTERA-EMC solution enables POST to easily deliver and manage protection variety of cloud storage services – all from a unified platform with single pane-of-glass management. CTERA’s robust security features include encryption key management per customer, and Active Directory integration for identity management, access control and single sign-on (SSO), and the ability to delegate administration privileges to enterprise IT administrators.
The combined CTERA-EMC ViPR solution allows us to provide our business customers with secure mobile-ready file sync & share services, and launch CloudDrive, our complete cloud storage services offering, under our own private label.

The solution uses advanced de-duplication, compression and bandwidth control to guarantee excellent performance and low impact on bandwidth, even for customers with lower bandwidth connections. Storage capacity is automatically provisioned via EMC based on customer service plans defined within CTERA’s management console.
Owing to the tight integration between CTERA Cloud Storage Services Platform and EMC Software Defined Storage, POST was able to address the needs of its business customers, providing next-generation cloud storage services with no compromise on security, scalability, and manageability, while reducing time to market and maintaining low total cost of ownership.
